An Interactive Multi-Instrument Database of Solar Flares (IMIDSF, Sadykov et al. 2017) is a collaborative project among the NASA Advanced Supercomputing (NAS) Division, NASA Ames Heliophysics Modeling and Simulation team, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Department of Physics, Department of Computer Science and the Center for Computational Heliophysics.

A major milestone of this project is a development of the NASA Ames Helioportal (first release in February 2018) and an implementation of the IMIDSF as a title project at Helioportal. The key features of IMIDSF are the following:

  1. Integration of the flare events from different flare catalogs (GOES, RHESSI, HEK, Hinode, Fermi GBM, Konus-WIND, the OVSA flare catalogs). “One flare – one result” philosophy.
  2. A search of the flare events based on their physical descriptors (for both stored in the catalogs and calculated) and the availability of observations (currently IRIS and Nobeyama observational filters are available).
  3. A detailed look at the particular event which indludes quicklook light curves (GOES, NORP and ESP/EVE SDO), cross-mission summary for each event, and user-defined search for similar events.
